LHC Youth: ‘Easter Bunny Rides A Motorcycle’

Sunrise Rotary’s Easter Egg Hunt was the place to talk of all things Easter Sunday at SARA Park. It was the 40,000 eggs laid out in at least eight age-group patches that really begged two questions to be answered: ‘Where does the Easter Bunny live?’, and ‘How does he get there?’

A handful of local egg-hunters where asked these questions. In short, it was determined that the Easter Bunny lives in a hole at the beach. Or, maybe he lives in the Hualapai Mountains, or Easter Island. And he delivers delightful Easter baskets via hopping, or by riding a motorcycle.

“He maybe lives in a hole, maybe in Rabbit Land,” said Draven Branaman, 7, of Havasu. “I think he runs really fast.”

Andie Acevedo, 5, of Havasu, said she was absolutely certain the Bunny does not live at the Lake.

“He lives at the beach,” Acevedo said. “I think he rides a motorcycle.”

Leelan Ray, 6, and younger sister 3-year-old Brodie, both believe the Bunny lives in the Hualapai Mountains. Furthermore, both Ray siblings believe he hops from place to place.

“He lives in the Hualapai’s,” Leelan Ray said. “He hops.”

Malichi Bishop, 6, of Havasu, disagrees.

“I think he lives on Easter Island,” Bishop said. “He uses a motorcycle to get there.”

Sunrise Rotary member Michelle Pounders said the group circulated 5,000 fliers and were expecting as many children. Overall efforts span two or three months for the Sunrise Rotary members involved.

“We start by getting sponsors for the patches; they are $200 patch sponsorships,” Pounders said.

This year, other donations came in the form of 8,000 plastic Easter Eggs, candy and prizes, she said.
