The Lake Havasu City Unified School District announced its Teachers of the Year Tuesday evening during the school board meeting.

Teachers and their supporters packed into the board meeting to hear the announcement.

The following teachers were honored Tuesday evening:

Michelle Budden: Havasupai Elementary

Kelsey Kendrick: Jamaica Elementary

Julie Zemojtel: Lake Havasu High School

Tamara Cornell: Nautilus Elementary

Sage Best: Oro Grande Elementary

Breanne Loutherback: Smoketree Elementary

Courtney Zampogna: Starline Elementary  Courteney also received District Teacher of the Year

Allison Finnegan: Thunderbolt Middle School

Avalon Verdone: Rookie Teacher of the Year Oro Grande Elementary

Kristin Mortenson: Support Staff of the Year Lake Havasu High School

The Lake Havasu Unified School District thanked the following supporters for donating to the event:

London Bridge Resort, K-12 Foundation, Arizona Watersports, Mudshark Brewery, Sunset Charter and Tour Co., Star Cinemas, Wild Coffee, Surf Thru Express Car Wash, Lake Havasu Chamber of Commerce, Parent Organizations, and Shabby Shack.

    Where is a Teacher from Havasu Preparatory Academy and the other Charter Schools which are Public Schools too? They have amazing teachers too who should be honored.
    Our teachers are HEORS.
