After a two-day wind delay, Sunday dawned calmer and Lucas Oil Drag Boat Races took to the Colorado River in Parker.

Since qualifying was blown out, racing started with eliminations and pairings were determined by last race points and the drawing of straws for those not yet in the points.

The winds came and went throughout the day, and with those delays and a few mishaps on the track, the only final that was run was the top fuel hydros.

With the sun quickly sinking and the winds starting to come back, Brian Sanders in the “Nitrochondriac” lined up next to the “Problem Child” for a great head-to-head final with Daryl Erlich able to pull ahead in “Problem Child” to take the win.

LODBRS rules indicate that winners in the other classes will be determined by the fastest times in the event.

The next stop for LODBRS Wheatland, Mo. LODBRS will be back in Parker for another show in October.
