Dig out those umbrellas and galoshes and get ready for some wet weather.

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nev., is forecasting a soggy Thursday afternoon for the Lake Havasu City area.

A storm coming in from Northern California is expected to arrive in the Lake Havasu and lower Colorado River areas around noon, according to Barry Pierce of the NWS Vegas.

“The leading edge of precipitation should start around noon. It will bring rain, and the possibility of a thunderstorm and lightening,” Pierce said.

Pierce said the rain should continue until about 10 p.m., with anywhere between ¼ and ½ inches of rainfall. Southerly winds will be between 10 and 20 mph with temperatures in the mid-60s.

“It should move out Friday,” Pierce said.

He said the forecast shows a clearing pattern for Friday, Saturday and Sunday before another weather system moves in Monday.

“It will be showery with lower temperatures Monday through Wednesday,” he said.
