Winterblast Takes Over The Skies This Weekend

The 30th Annual Winterblast Pyrotechnics show will be a blast this President’s Day Weekend. The event is at Havasu 95 Speedway of SARA Park from Friday- Sunday with displays happening each evening.

The event pairs as both a featured display for event goers as well as an expo for pyrotechnic designers. The members of the show travel from areas across the globe to showcase their uniquely fabricated pyrotechnics.

During daylight hours, vendors, fabricators and enthusiasts gather to mingle with others in the industry. According to the official Western Pyrotechnics Association website, the weekend will also feature “seminars, trade shows, class C and pyrotechnic supply vending, open Class C and Class B shooting, BBQ’s, afterglow parties, and much more.”

After the sun sets, the show begins and the skies relight. The night display begins at 7:30 p.m. Parking is vailable for $7/vehicle with VIP all weekend passes available. Note that coolers and outside food and drink containers are prohibited. Visitors are able to view the show from the inside or area surrounding the vehicle.

There are closer spots in the new area in the Sara Park baseball fields referred to as “Pyro in the Park,” this family festival is free and features food and drink vendors. Bring your own seating.

For the closest view, there are tickets available for grandstand seating along the Havasu 95 Speedway. Tickets are $7 per person (6 and under free) and sales being the day of at 5pm.

Gates open all weekend at noon. It is recommended to get to the event early to guarantee the best view. Please leave pets at home.
