A sea of purple Starline Elementary spirit shirts, along with parents and students, filled the gymnasium at Starline Elementary for the annual Family Movie Night Friday. The event was hosted by Starline’s Parent and Teachers Association (PTA).
“It is just a fun family event we do every year for their families and their friends to kick off the beginning of the school year,” said Amanda Mosley, Starline Trailblazers PTA President.

Free popcorn provided by Movies Havasu and a free showing of the animated film ” The Bad Guys” was available for all families who came out to participate. Families brought blankets and lawn chairs and enjoyed light refreshments, popcorn and additional snacks that folks brought from from home.
A few weeks before the event, students were given a chance to vote between three movies, and the movie with the most votes was the one featured at family movie night.
Family movie night is held each year and is free to all families whose children attend Starline Elementary. The event is a favorite in the community.
“Family nights are held quarterly, and this is something the community has grown to love so we will continue to have these,” said Starline principal Ginny Sautner. “We always want to encourage families to stay connected to their school,” she adds.
