If you’re looking for a summer activity the whole family can enjoy, try Desert Bladz Ice Skating Rink. The rink just celebrated its soft opening last week. The same duo behind last winter’s outdoor ice skating rink near London Bridge Resort is bringing this 3,000-foot indoor ice rink to Havasu in the former Salvation Army building on McCulloch Blvd.

Raymond and Lisa Brogan have been in the ice skating rink business for 18 years, having started rinks in Australia as well as the U.S. When the Salvation Army building became available, they took advantage of the opportunity to make their dreams of a rink in Havasu a reality. They are currently working with mayor Cal Sheehy to set their official grand opening date but are open for business in the meantime.

“It’s getting busier everyday,” Lisa Brogan said. “My Facebook page is absolutely going nuts with questions!”

Desert Bladz is open seven days a week for its summer break hours, Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
