From Old To New: Artist Creates Art With Unconventional Items

Some may be used to seeing a painting, drawing or a sculpture when viewing an art gallery or show, however one artist in Lake Havasu City is creating art in a very unique way by using unconventional and upcycled items.

Simply Savage Designs presents a fun and unique form of art that is different from traditional mediums.

For over 13 years, Tyler Savage began creating pieces by making unique anniversary gifts for his wife Tiffany, using only materials on the traditional gift lists each year.

“The art has definitely evolved into creations from vintage items, automotive parts and rustic items,” Savage said.

Some of his items include discarded instruments that he upcycled that are custom made to fit the customer’s wants.

“These are my favorite to create because they are specifically tailored to each client’s desires and wishes,” said Savage. “My most popular item has been the custom made themed guitar art.”

Some items that Savage has for sale are 10 original works including “Wounded Angel”, “Fuel Your Fire”, and “Gearhead”. His items will be on display at First Friday on Oct 7 next to Desert Rose on Downtown McCulloch.
